Groups, equipment and measurement points

Groups organize equipment by workshop, production line or area and can contain other groups or equipment. Equipment represents a particular machine. A measurement point belongs to equipment and collects the acquisition records for that physical location; a point cannot be created directly under a group.

Existing data may retain older hierarchy levels such as machine sets or installations. The recorded creation interface mainly offers groups and equipment.

For example, use the group "Cooling Water Pump House", equipment "Cooling Water Pump 1" and point "Drive End Horizontal". These are naming examples; the software does not create them automatically.

Add a group or equipment

  1. Open Equipment Management and click Add Group or Add Equipment. To create a child under an existing group, select that group first and use the add control in its details.
  2. Enter the node name and check its type and parent. A root node can have no parent.
  3. Enter a code and notes as needed. The code identifies the object and must pass the software's uniqueness validation.
  4. For equipment, optionally enter rated speed, warning threshold and alarm threshold.
  5. Save, wait for success, then check the tree location, name and ID again.

Rated speed and thresholds

Rated speed is an equipment-record parameter, not the measured speed of every acquisition record. Warning and alarm thresholds on the equipment page are displayed in g. If both are entered, the alarm threshold must be greater than the warning threshold.

Thresholds support related status judgments in the application. An arbitrary value is not a universal acceptance criterion, and a threshold in g cannot be compared directly with a velocity indicator in mm/s. The ability to edit a field does not mean the software selects suitable thresholds automatically. Choose values using the machine's requirements, operating conditions and actual assessment.

Add a measurement point

  1. Select the actual equipment in the tree and check its name and ID.
  2. Click Add Measurement Point in Associated Measurement Points.
  3. Enter the point name and direction: H for horizontal, V for vertical or A for axial.
  4. Save and check the equipment's point list, then select the point on the acquisition page.

Direction is record metadata and does not replace checking the sensor's physical installation direction. The recorded page provides point creation and deletion. An accessible point-edit form has not been confirmed; the existence of an underlying interface does not establish an available user control.

Find and edit equipment

Search by equipment name or code, select the matching node and inspect its details and points. Use the node ID to distinguish duplicate names.

Edit Equipment Details allows changes to the name, code, rated speed, thresholds and notes. Type and parent are locked during editing, so this ordinary edit flow cannot move equipment to a different group.

Delete equipment or a point

Before deleting a group or equipment, its child nodes and points must be dealt with. Dependencies may disable deletion or cause the backend to reject it. Acquisition records and other dependencies also restrict point deletion.

Check the object in the confirmation dialog. Deletion removes data; it is neither hiding nor archiving. If existing business data is involved, make a backup first and handle it according to retention requirements. Do not repeatedly delete dependencies merely to repair a record-creation mistake.

Export and import configuration

Configuration export exchanges the equipment tree, points and related configuration. Click Export Configuration in Equipment Management, choose the scope in the dialog and export. A configuration package is distinct from a database backup and from waveform data.

To import:

  1. Click Import Configuration and select the configuration file.
  2. Review the preflight check and detailed conflicts.
  3. Select a conflict policy.
  4. Submit the import.
  5. Inspect the actual result and refresh the equipment tree.

Skip conflicts preserves local data. Automatically rename imports the conflicting item as a new copy. Overwrite updates existing configuration according to the import rules. Overwrite can change current equipment parameters, so review each change before submission.

A successful preflight check does not mean anything has been written. Import is complete only after submission finishes.

A new point is missing from acquisition

First confirm that the point was saved under the correct equipment, especially when equipment names are duplicated. Then refresh the equipment tree on the acquisition page. A point entered in an unsaved form will not appear in the target list. A group itself cannot be selected as an acquisition point.
